We are excited to announce our new Flashcards app is now available on the iOS App Store! We also put together a short video of the app’s features.
Some of the cards for Exam FM are already loaded into the app, so you can start using them as soon as you like. We hope to finish posting the rest of the FM flashcards later this week.
This version is only the beginning, and we have more features planned. The Android version is also extremely close and should be ready soon.

Very excited to be able to let you know that we have installed a filter system on the Work problems tab.
By repeatedly using any of the drop down menus, you can add more problems to your filter. Click the Funnel icon to the right to clear the filter and default to all the problem in the lesson, chapter, or unit, respectively.
This will allow you, in particular, to work on only problems from the Feb/Apr syllabus, or only problems from the June syllabus, by only selecting those units/chapter/lessons in the filter.
Let me know if you have any questions about that, or if you notice any issues that need attention.

Hello, everyone.
I’m excited to let you know that if you are using the default HTML5 video player, or if you are using the iPhone app, then when you stop watching a video part way through, the player should now remember approximately where you left off and start you back there when you come back to the video again.
It isn’t clear at this time when/if this will become available on Android or on the Windows media player.

The SOA has clarified that when forward rates appear on the exam it will be with the following language:
Forward rate: An m-year spot rate that comes into effect t years in the future will be referred to as the “m-year forward rate, deferred t years” or as the “m-year forward rate, starting in t years”.
This appears in the notation and terminology note for the FM exam, which can currently be found at the following URL:

We have updated our practice problems and sample exam problems to reflect this language. You may want to refresh your pdf file collection for the seminar at this time. If you find any problems that look like they don’t use this language, please let us know.

We’ve just finished a fifth practice exam, and it is now live on the site.
This one contains 35 brand new questions, and is likely closer in difficulty to sample exams 1 and 2, but we’ll let you decide what you think.
Good luck!
